Tentative d'assassinat contre Givi !

Unsuccessful assassination attempt on Givi in Donetsk.

In the area of Makeyevka, Donetsk People’s Republic, an assassination attempt was undertaken against Somalia Battalion commander Lt. Colonel Mikhail Tolstykh, known as Givi, on March 19.

Unidentified persons fired at his car while he was driving to a militia position near the Donetsk airport.

The attack damaged the car. Givi was not injured, he managed to jump out of the car.

The attackers were driving a blue vehicle, license number 21099, and used 5,45×39 mm cartridges. After the incident, Givi returned to the car and continued on his way to the front line.

« I drive round without protection. I fear nobody ; I’m on home ground. Everyone says I should get a guard, but I’m no VIP », – Tolstykh commented on the suggestion that he should move around with bodyguards only.
